These models were then manufactured for Van Cleef \u0026amp; Arpels by the Parisian workshop of André Vassort, renowned for its major role as a maker for the great Maisons of the Place Vendôme. The pair presented here, which bears no signature or Maison hallmark, cannot be attributed with certainty to Van Cleef \u0026amp; Arpels. It nevertheless shows work that is strictly identical in its design, proportions, materials and quality of execution, and can be compared to the pieces produced by the André Vassort workshop in this period.
