Jewelry appraisal in Paris
How do we appraise a jewel?
Appraising a jewel means identifying and authenticating it. It is requested before a sale, to insure a jewel, at the time of a division or an estate, or simply to learn its history and value. Our expert examines its metal and hallmarks, the nature and quality of its stones, its craftsmanship, its signature and its period.
He explains what he observes and checks its condition. Above all, he tells you whether your jewel can be resold as a jewel, or whether its value lies only in its metal. Finally, he gives you an estimate, whether or not you are considering selling it.
This appraisal is free and without obligation.

Étape 1
Getting in touch
-
Étape 2
Making an appointment
Following this first contact, we arrange an appointment at our premises in the centre of Paris to discover and appraise your antique and vintage jewelry.
-
Étape 3
Appraising your jewelry
We examine your jewel: hallmarks, stones, condition, signature and period. We then tell you its value.

Étape 4
Concluding the appraisal
If you wish to sell, we can make you a purchase offer. We can also issue an insurance certificate or an inventory for a division.
And if you wish to sell?
After the appraisal, we make you an offer to buy or consign your jewelry. If we agree, payment is made the same day.
Your questions, our answers
All of them, including those that seem ordinary: a wedding band, a chain or a brooch may be of more interest than you think. It is best to show us the whole collection.
We appraise it ourselves. Art historians specialising in jewelry, we trained in gemmology at the École Boulle and hold the HRD Antwerp diploma. We welcome you in the Passage Molière, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, and our story is told in our history.
Yes, the oral appraisal is free. When a written document is needed, for insurance, a division or an estate, we provide a valuation, an inventory or a certificate, on quotation.
No. The appraisal is independent of any sale: its sole purpose is to let you know your jewel.
