Antique Garland Brooch in Gold, Silver, Natural Pearls and Old-Cut Diamonds

Sale price6 800 €

Round corsage brooch in 18k (750/1000) gold and silver set with four Old Mine Cut diamonds at the four cardinal points weighing approx. 2 carats in total, and a central diamond of approx. 0.8 carat. The brooch is adorned with natural pearls threaded on gold wire, black enamel and small bezel-set diamonds. The central stone is slightly tinted (KL/VS2). The side stones are whiter in colour (H_I) with clarities ranging from VS2 to P1. All are eye-clean. The stones were most likely cut before the jewel was made, in a period ranging from the late 18th to the first half of the 19th century. An articulated central garland holds a round motif composed of natural pearls and diamonds. The two side garlands present a symmetrical graduated motif. This is probably a French work from the late 19th century.
